About 湘園 Hunan Garden

Located in the heart of Johns Creek, 湘園 Hunan Garden offers a culinary escape to Taiwan, seamlessly blending the rich flavors of Taiwanese and Chinese delights. Nestled at 10450 Medlock Bridge Rd Suite 102, this gem exudes a warmth that makes even the most rushed of patrons feel right at home.

The menu, a well-rounded passport to Taiwanese traditions, is highly commendable. Diners are greeted with a plethora of options, but the Pork Dumplings and Beef Noodle Soup are true standouts. Accompanied by a fragrant broth and hearty noodles, the noodle dish is both a comfort staple and a tantalizing treat. Seafood lovers might find the Salt and Pepper Shrimp particularly indulgent - it’s crispy, well-seasoned, and doesn't shy away from packing a punch.

However, the real magic unfolds with the Mala Pot. It's a mastery of spices, balancing heat, savory depths, and a hint of numbing sensation that dances on the palate. Crafted expertly, it’s the kind of dish one revisits, savoring the layers and the lingering aftertaste long after the meal ends. Complimenting these bold flavors, a selection of teas delivers a refreshing contrast, ensuring each bite is distinct yet enhances the overall experience.

But what about first impressions from other diners? Many reviews speak of the ambiance - casual yet sophisticated enough for both a family dinner and a casual date night. Patrons rave about the attentive service, with staff often praised for their readiness to guide and recommend dishes suited to varying spice preferences. It's not just about dining here; it’s about being part of a culinary journey.

Now, while it might be chic and trendy to frequent the newest pop-up in town, there’s an undeniable charm in a spot like 湘園 Hunan Garden. It’s where the consistent quality of dishes has cultivated a loyal base of returning customers. With authentic flavors served with genuine hospitality, this eatery holds its own in the vibrant dining scene of Johns Creek.

Next time, dropping by should definitely be on the agenda. Whether a devoted fan of Taiwanese cuisine or someone eager to explore the myriad of regional Chinese flavors, this restaurant opens its doors wide, waiting to impress and indulge every visitor.

Best dry hot pot in town! The chili fish dry hot pot is my favorite, flavorful with the perfect spice level. The plum drink pairs great with it. Their friend rice and lo mein was amazing too. Super sweet staff too. This has become my regular spot!

This is an authentic Chinese restaurant that was recommended by a Chinese friend. The menu felt unfamiliar to us, but everything we tried was delicious. I went with a group of people, and we ordered a good variety of dishes (spicy and non-spicy, fish, pork, beef, shrimp, flat noodles, etc.), and none of them disappointed us. I don’t remember all names of the dishes we ordered. If you’re unsure what to get, you can ask the server for recommendations—they were very willing to help. For a drink, I had the plum drink, which had a smell similar to traditional herbal medicine that some people might not enjoy. It didn’t bother me personally, but it was a bit surprising at first. The taste was still sweet and enjoyable, though. It’s a great place to go with a group because they have circular tables with a rotating center (lazy Susan), which makes it easy to share dishes. I would definitely visit again.

Great place for Malatang and Dry pot Tofu stuffed with chicken Malatang was great Took the choose two dry pot as well. Had chosen crispy shrimp and lamb as the two options. Yummy! Service was great If I have to nit pick, it’s just two things: 1. Ambience not so great 2. A little bit saltier food for my palate

Came here for Father's Day and came right when they reopened for dinner so they weren't busy yet. The waitress gave us full attention and helped us select some good menu items. We ordered several fish items for our family of four and enjoyed ourselves to each dish. The food quality here is high and we are not familiar with Taiwanese food all that much so it was exotic and delicious. We ordered several proteins so we got to try a little bit of a few their items and the variety here is good. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and clean. Overall, the dinner was great. The portions were generous and we had enough to take home some leftovers. Parking is plentiful and prices were reasonable. 5 stars and two thumbs up for Hunan Garden in Johns Creek.

I recently dined at Hunan Garden and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality of their dishes. The seasonal pig ears were a delightful surprise, perfectly seasoned and incredibly flavorful. The dry pot(fish and lamb) was another highlight, bursting with rich, aromatic flavors that made each bite an adventure. The dumplings were delicious, with a perfect balance of texture and taste that left us wanting more. Not only is the food outstanding, but the restaurant is also kid friendly. The staff was wonderfully attentive and ensured that our dining experience was pleasant and stress-free. The service was exceptional, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. In my opinion, Hunan Garden is the best Chinese restaurant in Johns Creek. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious dining experience. We'll definitely be returning soon!
